Harold Engleman (Jan. 12 1928-July 15, 2006)On Sat. July 15, 2006 the Lord took Pastor Harold G. Engleman, 78, by the hand and led him home. He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. Survived by his loving wife Marjorie Engleman; daughters Jan (Russ) Willis, Pueblo and Sharon (Brad) Bothwell, Cody, WY; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; Brother, Dale Engleman, Kearney, NE; Sisters, Julia Renelda Clarke, Riverside, CA, Eleanor Carpenter, Bassett, NE and Harriett (Robert) Foster, Bloomfield, NM. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Harold, the firstborn of twins, was born January 12, 1928 to David Leroy and Ora Marie Newtson Engleman on a farm in Overton, NE. His sister Harriett was born nine hours later.

In December 1947, he accepted the Lord as his Savior and in the fall of 1948 entered Bible college at Omaha Bible Institute, which is now Faith Baptist Bible College, where he met his “other” love, Marjorie Rumsey. On June 18, 1950, they were married. Later, he served on the board of directors of Faith Baptist Bible College. Harold graduated in 1951 and Jan was born September 25, 1951 in Pueblo, CO. He pastored his first church in Mills, NE in January of 1952.

In 1952, he followed his twin sister to Kearney, NE where he attended Kearney State College to receive a BA in education. Sharon was born April 28, 1956 and after graduation, the family moved to Corning, IA where Harold was pastor of Grace Baptist Church until moving to Phillipsburg, KS in 1959 to pastor Calvary Baptist Church for the next ten years.

In the summer of 1969, the family moved to Pueblo, CO. Upon attending Liberty Baptist Church, Harold found out they were without a pastor. He accepted the leadership in the fall and stayed until 1974 when he started Berean Baptist Church, which is now known as West Street Baptist Church. Harold also taught at Park Hill Christian Academy for two years.

In 1986, Harold and Marjorie moved to Denver, CO to be assistant managers of Eden Manor Retirement Home and stayed managers until 1998 when they moved back to Pueblo to be managers of Presbyterian Towers until Harold’s passing on July 15, 2006.
